2 million, 2007 by Chris Jordan
This photo depicts two million plastic beverage bottles, the number used in the US every five minutes.
a little closer
and a little closer. Funny how our actions multiply. Durango population is 17,000, and if everyone drank one bottle a day, we’d reach that 2 million photo in 4 months. Geez that’s a lotta bottles.

What about a serious bottle law that puts a deposit on all (yes, all) bottles - soda, water, juice, etc. etc. It’s not easy getting govt to enact such a law, but it can make a huge difference in not filling the landfills with all that litter.
Just a thought.
We drink tap water.
