-interesting about the goldfish.  I started with little native minnows, but they didn't keep up with the mosquito larvae, which is a big deal here because it's a West Nile area.  So I've used goldfish ever since.  Maybe I need bigger minnows.  The pond is a few feet deep, with native waterplants, so murkiness isn't a problem... probably because it's colder here. </description>
