This is another set of dawn photos (love the Daylight Savings Time): it’s the first snow, and two young bucks are playing with their new antlers.
They engage,
push,
twist
try to disengage
and back off.
He asks, are you OK?
Once again, they engage,
and push.

Their antlers look so fragile and I am always amazed they can disentangle them from each other.
These are fine action photos.
Hailing from Durango on the South side of the 160 toward Bayfield…
just wanted to tell you I heard a story yesterday from an avid hunter friend who knows another hunter who found 2 large bucks who died with their antlers stuck because one of them had a deformed antler. He had them memorialized for a corner of his home. (ICK!) Anyway, I enjoy your pictures as much as I enjoy seeing the various wildlife in person. Thanks for sharing.
Eeeeeks!!!
