The coffin freezer is kept about 2 degrees, and the tomatoes are like little baseballs, no mess at all. To use a frozen tomato, you run it under hot water in the sink, and the skin slips right off. You cut the stem out along with the skin and it's ready to go. I think this is a deep freeze system, though, that might not work with a higher temperature freezer.
