Beside the Stream

A friend picked me an impossibly large bouquet of sunflowers when I stopped by, and gave me a loaner vase so they’d be safe for the ride home.  The vase didn’t look nearly big enough for that many fat sunflower stems. 

I don’t think they’re all going to fit in there, I said. 

You just watch, she said.  This ain’t my first rodeo.
