I wasn’t planning on processing food today, but I got a call from a neighbor: Do you want peaches? Of course I said yes.

The peaches are ripe today… not tomorrow, not the day after tomorrow, but today. They have to be peeled, pitted and popped in the freezer.
She asked, do you want any more plums?
I surely do.
I brought back ten pounds of plums and twenty of peaches that have to be taken care of before dark. Which is to say,
… The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men,
Gang aft agley, …
“To A Mouse” by Robert Burns, 1785.
often paraphrased as ‘The best-laid plans of mice and men / Go oft awry’
or, plans change.

What a bounty! You sure have NICE neighbors!
I think you are very lucky - even with all the work to can peaches and plums - YUM!
Say, how are Steve’s tomatoes doing? Are they ripening up? I was just picking some myself and couldn’t stop thinking about Steve and his crop! And, yet, how well you can grow apricots, peaches and plums out in Co.
The colors of those plums and peaches are gorgeous! They must be delicious!
